Kangaroo Island is famous for its food and wine, and below we have listed just some of the fantastic  food venues available.  On arrival at the airport or ferry terminal make sure you pick up the KANGAROO ISLAND FOOD AND WINE GUIDE - published annually and up to date - to ensure you make the most of your Island wining and dining experience.  There are hotels, motels, cafes and restaurants in the townships as well as unusual and interesting venues such as the Emu Bay Lavendar Farm, Rustic Blue Cafe and many, many more..........................


Andermel Marron And Two Wheeler Creek Wines

Location: Harriet Road, Central KI                                                      

 Don't miss this threefold opportunity for magnificent marron (freshwater crayfish), wine tastings/sales and café dining. View marron in holding tanks in the farm shed and learn more about this Island icon. Taste a selection of premium red and white wines made from grapes grown on the property - Sauvignon Blanc is a specialty. Select marron, wine and bush tucker sauces to create your own Island feast or dine at the Marron Café beside the native herb garden (last orders 4pm).

Clifford's Honey Farm

Location: Elsegood Road, MacGillivray

Discover the Ligurian Bee, view them in a glass hive and watch the informative video, which explains the collection and extraction process of honey and bee hive by-products. Enjoy browsing the local produce, art and craft and cosmetics made with honey and beeswax. Sample several flavours of pure Ligurian honey and try Jenny's famous honey Icecream.

Fish - 2 Birds And A Squid

Location: North Terrace, Penneshaw

Join renowned chef Sue Pearson at her gourmet fish shop on the last Friday of each month as she hosts cooking demonstrations. Each lesson is different and covers all topics from shucking oysters to cooking the perfect lobster. She may even share the secrets to her now famous sauces, or take guests off-site in search of samphire and wild garlic.

Island Beehive

Location: Main Kingscote entrance, on your right

Visit one of Australia's largest organic honey producers, an apiary industry showcase for Kangaroo Island's world renowned Ligurian Bee. Enjoy free tastings of their award-winning honey, view bees in the glass hive and take a guided factory tour. Shop for local art, homemade honeycomb ice cream and a wide range of quality souvenirs or just relax with a coffee in the café.

Island Pure Sheep Dairy

Location: Gum Creek Road, Cygnet River

A dairy with a difference. Take part in a guided tour and observe the milking of sheep and the making of this famous cheese and yoghurt. There are opportunities for visitors to taste and buy the produce, which includes Spanish, Greek, Italian and Cypriot style cheeses. Wouldn't you love some fried haloumi on the BBQ tonight?

Kangaroo Island Fresh Seafood

Location: Telegraph Rd, Kingscote

Serving the Island's largest range of locally caught seafood. Take some fresh fish back to your accommodation and cook it yourself or have it cooked for you in the shop - your choice of battered, crumbed or grilled (gluten free available). Chips, freshly made salads and seafood platters are available. For those who have their own catch of fish, Kangaroo Island Fresh Seafood also offer a filleting service.

Penneshaw Farmers Market

Location: Penneshaw Oval

Join a selection of Kangaroo Island's top food producers at the Penneshaw Farmers Market. Purchase a range of fresh local produce from the very people who grow, farm or make it. Tastings, breakfast, coffee and a great village atmosphere are all on offer...so be sure to make a morning out of it.
