[ Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island -  payment/deposit/refund policy as it relates to properties booked though Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island's web site.

An accommodation booking must be confirmed within 1  working day together with a NON REFUNDABLE deposit equal to the first night’s stay, with the balance payable 4 weeks before arrival.  The booking to be confirmed with the full amount if arriving within 4 weeks at the time of booking.

Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island  do not charge a booking fee.  However, if you have made a booking through a third part web provider (eg Stayz/Trip Advisor, Air BnB) these providers may charge fees for bookings made through their web sites.

Cancellation fees
For any cancellation – the minimum cancellation fee is the full value of the first night’s accommodation
-  less than 14 days prior to the date of arrival, the first night or 50% of the total price whichever is the   greater
-  less than 7 days  notice prior to the date of arrival, 75% of the total price.
-  within 24 hours of date of arrival or  failure to arrive without notice, 100% of the total price. 
No refund is provided should the client wish to depart the property earlier than the number of nights pre paid for that property.

Ouwens Casserly reminds guests to pay the balance at 30 days, then 20 days and finally 10 days before the stay. Cancellation by Owuens Casserly Kangaroo Island then occurs on day 9 should payment not be received and the guest forfeits the deposit paid. The normal Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Isalnd cancellation policy applies on any monies received.  Whilst Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island will endeavour to rebook the property Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island cannot be held accountable should this not eventuate.

Late Check outs.   Check in is after 2 pm and check out by 10 am on day of departure.   In some cases late check outs may be possible, depending on individual property owners and circumstances.  IF REQUIRING A LATE CHECK OUT PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER DIRECT TO ARRANGE.   On payment of a deposit/balance the owner details will be provided to the client.

PACKAGES comprising accommodation and the KI Sealink Ferry - Cancellation conditions.

For any cancellation – the minimum cancellation fee is 50% of the total package price paid.
-  less than 7 days  notice prior to the date of arrival, 75% of the total package price paid.
-  within 24 hours of date of arrival or  failure to arrive without notice, 100% of the total package price paid.
No refund is provided should the client wish to depart the property earlier than the number of nights pre paid for that property.


Changes to bookings - accommodation, KI Sealink ferry and packages comprising accommodation and ferry.

Changes made to accommodation bookings after a booking has been confirmed with a deposit and/or balance may incur a change to booking fee of $10.  Changes made to KI Sealink ferry bookings may incur a change to ferry booking fee of $10.   Changes made to packages comprising accommodation and ferry bookings may incur a booking fee of $20. Any fees charged are at the discretion of Club KI staff to be advised at the time a request is made for changes to accommodation and/or KI Sealink Ferry bookings.

General Information

Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island's owners are experienced real estate agents and consultants. The managing director Alex Ouwens (Ouwens Casserly,  200 East Terrace, Adelaide) is a licensed real estate manager, auctioneer and agent.  
 
Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island's booking conditions and legality information to clients of Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island include,  but are not limited,  to the following:-

“We, Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Isalnd , act as booking agent for the accommodation properties listed with Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island only, making booking contracts between you and the owner of the property you have requested. Ouwens Casserly, its agents or staff shall not be liable for any damages, injury, loss or delay howsoever caused at the accommodation, in transit or at the property, or any related activity.  The information provided to you has been done so in good faith and it is assumed to be correct at the time of your reservation.  Any complaints should be made in writing to Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island and will be forwarded to the accommodation provider for consideration.   No responsibility will be accepted for complaints received more than 14 days after the event.  Neither Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island  nor its employees or agents are responsible for the actions, defaults, or negligence of any accommodation provider.  Any dispute between the owner and client must be settled directly with the owner, for whose actions we can accept no responsibility. 

Rental rates: Whilst Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island  works closely with property owners in ensuring tariffs are correct and/or up to date on our web site,  these can be changed subject to alteration, at times without notice.  In this case increases  requested by property owners are subject to the conditions of the provider and no responsibility will be accepted by Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island for unforseen omissions or additional costs incurred, nor for  misrepresentation.

Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island reserves the right to refuse any booking and for an owner of a property to cancel any booking already made if the property becomes, for reasons beyond the owner’s control, unavailable.  In such case, a full refund of any monies will be made, and neither Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island nor the owners shall be under any other liability.

Occupancy.  Your reservation will permit only you and the members of your party, as advised at the time of booking, to occupy the property for holiday purposes only.
Check in time – after 2.00 pm on the day of arrival. We ask that you do not arrive any earlier.
Check out time – 10.00 am.  This ensures adequate time to prepare the property for the next tenants.
Keys – Arrangements for key collection will be advised following payment of the deposit.

Key replacement will cost $10 per key, so please look after them while you are at the property.
Cleaning – you are required to vacate the property in a clean and tidy condition.  The owner reserves the right to charge an additional fee, if required, should the property not be left in a clean and tidy condition.
Damage – please report any damage or breakage to the owner or Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island.  If deemed culpable then the tenant may be responsible for replacement or repairs.
Smoking – all self catering property owners request that you DO NOT SMOKE INSIDE.
Insurance.  Whilst Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island has been provided with details of Public Liability Insurance by the owner of the property, neither Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island nor the property owner is liable for or holds insurance for rental guests personal property should theft, damage or loss occur.  Insurance of personal property is highly recommended.
PETS. Unless specifically shown in Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island's marketing (including Web Site) and acknowledged in writing by Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island, under no circumstances are pets allowed at the property. Owners will have the right to ask clients to leave if this request is ignored.
Please use water sparingly during your visit as many properties rely on rainwater.

SEALINK FERRY - when we have made a booking on the KI Sealink ferry on behalf of an accommodation guest, Ouwens Casserly Kangaroo Island  will forward with the guest Travel Itinerary a copy of Sealink's cancellation and other policy information, together with information for Australian Citizens who may choose to take out Travel Insurance  Travel insurance is highly recommended]
